I studied to be an engineer, but I’ve always had an aptitude for finances and investing. Before immigrating to the United States at the age of twenty-one, while attending college in Ukraine, I was one of the first people to work on the first commodities exchange organized after the fall of the Soviet Union.
I felt called to a financial career because of my grandmother’s story and what I had personally experienced when Ukraine became independent. As the country changed its currency, many people lost their life savings. After one of the shifts in the currency, my grandmother lost almost everything she had saved over the previous 30 years. I wanted to ensure that my clients would be able to retire on their own time and on their own terms, with a high degree of confidence that they would not outlive their savings – that their dignity and independence would not be undermined by up to four decades of rising living costs. I began my career in financial services at a Fortune 500 company. After a while, I realized that the solutions and products offered were not always in the clients’ best interests, which inspired me to start my own independent advisory firm, where I didn’t have to choose between an employer’s interests and my clients’. My approach to helping clients has been featured in Forbes, Bloomberg Businessweek, CNBC, Market Watch, Kiplinger, Yahoo Finance, and many ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX affiliates. Yet as a client, what matters most is my commitment to care about you and be more personally devoted to your financial success than anyone in the world who doesn't have your last name. My clients include educators, engineers, physicians, nurses, attorneys, CPAs, business owners, and retirees. When I am not perfecting financial plans and investment strategies for my clients, you can find me with my wife and two sons (12 and 3 years old) at soccer games and practices, on the tennis court, exploring art, reading, or spending time together at our home in Franklin, Michigan. |
